  • 1 egg

Instructions:

  1. In a medium-sized mixing bowl, combine the all-purpose flour and whole wheat flour. Set aside.
  2. In a separate mixing bowl, beat together the butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy.
  3. Mix in the egg, vanilla extract, sourdough starter, baking soda and salt, beat until well combined.
  4. Gradually add the flour mixture to the butter mixture, stirring until the dough comes together.
  5. Gently fold in the chocolate chips.
  6. Cover the dough with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 1 hour.
  7. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  8. Remove the dough from the refrigerator and form into balls, about 2 tablespoons of dough per cookie.
  9. Place the cookies on the prepared baking sheet, leaving about 2 inches of space between them.
  10. Bake the cookies for 12-15 minutes, or until they are golden brown.
  11. Remove the cookies from the oven and let them cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.
